40 miles off Maui, diving for mahi and ahi, the captain, Brian Yokishawa, tells me to jump off the boat…. check out what swam up:

While freediving with my new GunCam, I found a 26 inch halibut and filmed it swimming off, when it almost ran into a legal white seabass swimming in the kelp forest off the Gaviota Coast, north of Santa Barbara, all on a single breathold!

4th EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN INTERNATIONAL UNDERWATER FILM AND
PHOTOGRAPY FESTIVAL

March 20 – 22, 2008

This festival contains underwater photography and film competitions,
film showings, photography demonstrations, and children drawing
competitions in Eastern Mediterranean University halls. 10th EUIFA
meeting also held at the same place and time. We will be honored if
you accept our invitation to participate in the 4th Eastern
Mediterranean Underwater Photography and Film Festival - Northern
Cyprus during 20-22 March 2007 (http://www.emu.edu.tr/underwater). The
festival is the partner of UNEP-MAP Info/RAC and member of EUIFA.
This year one of photograph or film also will take the `EUIFA WORLD
ENVIRONMENT AWARD`. You may find further details from the web page.

Your expenses while here will be covered. If you will not be able
to attend, you may send your films or photographs to our address
before 10 of March 2008.
